Who is Amadora Art?
To those of you who don’t know me, let me introduce myself…
I’m Amadora, a 27 year old abstract and commission artist living and working in Sheffield, with a love for creating bold and colourful mixed media artworks.
My expressive painting style uses acrylic, spray paint and oil pastels to create layered and textured paintings, inspired by the external energy and vibrancy of the world around us. Alongside this external inspiration, I also explore the inner workings of thoughts and emotions through my work, and aim to translate the complexities and dynamic nature of our inner world through colour.
My work ranges from purely abstract art in the form of original paintings and fine art prints, to merging portraiture and figurative art with my abstract style. Exploring the contrast between the freedom and expression of abstracts, against the detail and narrative nature of realism is something which I am fascinated by and which has driven the blending of these two styles.
However, not all of my work lies within this abstract style, as I also enjoy painting in realism. In particular capturing night time city scenes from around Sheffield which can be found in the City Nights Fine Art Print Collection. I find there is something so special about capturing scenes from around my hometown and hearing other people’s memories and stories from those same places.
With no formal art training since A-level, my artistic journey began in lockdown 2020, where I began creating artwork for friends and family. Since then, I have created collections of original work which have been included in exhibitions, The Holy Art Fair in London, featured in House & Garden and Exposed magazines, and stocked in businesses around Sheffield.
Alongside creating my own collections of work, I also work on commission, creating bespoke original artwork which is tailored to my clients home. This allows me to create pieces which blend seamlessly in terms of colour scheme, interior design and decor, and artwork size to my clients space. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do creating it!
Love, Amadora x
