Artist Feature in Sheffield’s Exposed Magazine: An Inside Look

Artist Feature in Sheffield’s Exposed Magazine: An Inside Look

Back in March this year, I was contacted by Exposed Magazine with the opportunity to feature in their Artist Spotlight section, where every month they interview artists from Sheffield to discuss their work. I was delighted that they asked me to be involved so I agreed to the feature and shortly after I was having my first interview for a magazine!!

We discussed all things art and inspiration, starting with my journey and how I found my love for art again during lockdown. It began when I realised I could turn the drawings I was creating for a bit of fun into starting my own business and working on commission, setting up a website and selling original artwork and fine art prints.

Then we moved onto my chosen mediums and how I incorporate them into my work as a mixed media artist, as well as what inspires the direction of my art. Colour and energy are the driving forces behind my work; whether that’s in the from of self expression and my inner energy and emotions, or the external energy and vibrancy of the city of Sheffield around us. I love to create art that is full of life, vibrant and expressive, as I believe colour can have such an effect on our mood - if I can bring a little bit of uplifting energy into a space through my art, I’m happy!

Finally we chatted about my upcoming plans for the year in terms of exhibitions, new collections and creating more Sheffield inspired art!

I’m so pleased to have featured in such a renown Sheffield magazine, and to share a little bit more about me, my work and Amadora Art as a business. A massive thank you to Exposed Magazine for this opportunity!
