Prints With A Difference: The Beauty of Hand-Embellished Fine Art Prints

Within the art world, there are many different ways in which art can be collected, whether that’s through original creations, digital art or giclée printing techniques. Among these, hand-embellished fine art prints have been developed to bridge the gap between original artwork and giclée print reproductions, allowing collectors the opportunity to own a unique, one of a kind piece at a more affordable price than an original. 

What Are Hand-Embellished Fine Art Prints? 

Hand-embellished fine art prints are reproductions of original artworks that have been printed using giclée printing techniques, before being hand finished by the artist. Additional details are added to the prints, for example metallic details may be added which glisten in the light, or textural brushstrokes may be layered on top to add depth and replicate the style of the original piece.

For example, during the hand-embellishing process of my fine art prints, I add silver, bronze and gold details which catch the light and add a glistening quality alike to the original pieces. I also use a palette knife to add texture and depth in the same style as the originals. As many of my originals are textured and have these metallic qualities, this process is the perfect addition if you’re wanting to add a little extra luxury to your print.
