About
Hi, I'm so glad you're here! Continue reading to find out a bit more about me, my inspiration and what I've been up to recently!
Amadora is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Sheffield, who specialises in portraiture, abstract and urban paintings inspired by her hometown of Sheffield. Her maximalist style and use of vivid colours aims to bring uplifting energy into a space, which is a core theme across her eclectic mix of work.
Working in acrylic, spray paint and oil pastels to create layered paintings, Amadora is inspired by the external energy and vibrancy of city life. Alongside this external inspiration, she also explores the inner workings of thoughts and emotions, and aims to translate the dynamic nature of our inner world through colour.
Merging portraiture with abstract elements is the current focus for Amadora’s work, with the blending of these two styles being driven by her fascination of the freedom of abstracts, against the detail and narrative nature of realism.
Amadora is a self-taught artist, with her artistic journey beginning in lockdown 2020. Since then, she is now represented by galleries in Sheffield and London, and her work has been exhibited across the UK. She has also featured as an Artist Spotlight in renowned House & Garden and Exposed Sheffield Magazines.
Alongside creating her own collections of work, Amadora also works on commission, creating bespoke original artwork which is tailored to her clients home. For more information on bespoke artwork and to start your commission journey, please see the commissions page in the menu.

WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO…
Since the beginning of this year, my art style has gone in a new direction and Amadora Art has been on quite the journey! If you had asked me what I thought I’d be working on at the beginning of the year, I wouldn’t have imagined it is where I am now (October 2024).
If you’ve followed my art business for a while you’ll know I started out by painting detailed city and landscape scenes before shifting my focus (quite drastically!) to pure abstracts. I’ve always loved the contrast between these two styles and being able to create both allows me to explore a wider range of techniques which is very important to my practice.
However, at the beginning of this year I felt a need to try and bring these two opposing styles together, as I always felt somewhat torn between which I should focus on. This is where the idea of my Abstract Portrait Collection began!
I am now 7 portrait paintings into this collection and have created a range of vibrant works, from commissioned pieces to my own collection which I’m so proud of.
There has been some other big changes this year in terms of gallery representation - I’m so pleased to share with you that I’m now represented by Henarch Galleries London, and have a range of originals and fine art prints available in their flagship store in Spitalfields.
I am also an exhibiting artist at The Yard Gallery which is the latest addition to Sheffield’s art scene. The gallery is located in the newly renovated Leah’s Yard in Sheffield City Centre, alongside lots of independent businesses and creative spaces in this development. I had the pleasure of working with the team to curate the gallery space for the opening, which was a fantastic experience to display so many talented works of art by local Sheffield artists.
I’m really looking forward to the run up to Christmas and releasing the final pieces of my latest collection. I have a lot of exciting events still to come for 2024 so stay tuned to see where I’ll be exhibiting my work next!
Love, Amadora x
